Goldey-Beacom's men's soccer team broke the school record for longest unbeaten streak at 10, thanks to a 2-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory at Caldwell in Caldwell, NJ.
The previous streak of nine took place in 2001, all victories.
Freshman Ethan Maguire (Sydney, Australia) scored the first goal of the game off a goalie deflection in the 14th minute for his fourth goal of the season.
Sophomore Nicolas Jaramillo (Cali, Colombia) struck the final goal of the match off a loose ball in the box, during the 24th minute, tallying his third goal of the season.
Junior Suhail Bismilla (Johannesburg, South Africa) recorded the 11th shutout of his career, snagging four saves in the process.
The Lightning (13-3-1, 9-2-1 CACC) refused to allow a single goal in their last four appearances, breaking the school record of three set in 2002.
Tom Yorston and Alessandro Canino each took three shots for the Cougars (5-9-2, 3-6-1).
Goldey-Beacom returns to the pitch on Wednesday, playing at District of Columbia. Start time is scheduled for 3:00 pm with the home side seventh in the latest NCAA East Region rankings.
