Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Jaramillo’s Late Tally Gives Men’s Soccer Huge Win Over Georgian Court

Freshman Nicolas Jaramillo (Cali, Colombia) scored in the 82nd minute as Goldey-Beacom remained unbeaten in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with a stirring 3-2 victory over Georgian Court at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.

Garrett McVeigh opened the scoring 93 seconds into the match for the Lions when he rebounded Craig Smith's shot off the post and put it home.  Senior Rerom Delys (Vila Velha, Brazil) leveled the match for GBC (5-1, 3-0 CACC) in the 20th minute, taking a pass from reigning CACC Player of the Week sophomore Chahin Aghrim (Bonn, Germany) and netting his second goal of the year.

Junior Omar Hernandez (West Grove, PA) gave the Lightning their first lead, putting home a feed from senior Joe Traynor (Warminster, PA) for a 2-1 game.  Georgian Court (3-3, 3-1) tied things in the 51st minute when Michael Clarke corralled Smith's pass and scored inside the left post.

Jaramillo picked a great time for his first GBC goal, firing one that deflected off a defender and in to help his squad match the best league start in school history.  The Lightning also opened 3-0 in the CACC in 2002.

Sophomore Suhail Bismilla (Johannesburg, South Africa), named CACC Defender of the Week, did a solid job in trying to protect that honor with six saves.

Clarke had four shots and Yianni Kavarakas totaled three saves for the Lions

Goldey-Beacom is on the road Saturday at Bloomfield as part of a doubleheader with the women's team.  The men's game starts after 3:45 pm, which follows the women's 1:30 pm contest.
