Cross Country Takes Part in the Bill Fritz Invitational

Another competitive field was on display in Harrison Township, NJ as Goldey-Beacom's cross country teams competed at the Bill Fritz Invitational.

Jordan Dodson (Port Deposit, MD) gave the women's squad a jolt by closing the 6,000-meter course 30th in 25:05.25, fellow junior Crystal McCollum (Elkton, MD) was 64th in 26:43.83 and freshman Katie Jensen (Selbyville, DE) ended in 29:18.37.

Sophomore Kayla Lucas (Port Deposit, MD) ran in 40:17.00 and sophomore Julianna Wasiluk (Lviv, Ukraine) finished in 42:37.00 for the Lightning, who ended 13th with 350 points. New Paltz State won with 34 points.

Freshman Adam Quann (Pennsville, NJ) closed 86th on the men's side in 28:41.57, junior Victor Rueda-Jimenez (Milford, DE) was 88th in 28:49.83 and senior Rudy Braxton (Bear, DE) finished 95th in 29:15.34.

Jevon Sample (Lewes, DE) stopped the clock in 30:16.57, fellow junior Josh Shultz (Easton, PA) ran in 32:20.45, senior Ludric Francis (Smyrna, DE) closed in 32:45.05 and junior Solomon Cox (Rehobeth Beach, DE) ended in 33:46.66 for GBC, which ended 11th with 329 points. Rowan took the crown with 25 points.

The Lightning next Friday will host the GBC Fall Classic at Carousel Park in Wilmington. The women's race starts at 9:00 am, followed by the men's race 9:45 am.
