Volleyball Handed 3-0 Loss at Holy Family



Goldey-Beacom opened Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action at perennial South Division-power Holy Family and was handed a 3-0 loss (19-25, 26-28, 13-25) in Philadelphia.
 
Goldey-Beacom in the first set could not overcome a 15-10 difference in kills and after a tough setback in the middle set, managed just four kills in the finale.  The Tigers amassed 13 kills in the third set and closed the match with a 42-28 overall edge.
 
Senior Grace McCarthy (Middletown, DE) had 10 kills and 10 digs for her second double-double of the season, sophomore Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA), dished 20 assists, Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, NJ) amassed eight kills and seven digs with fellow freshman Makinsie Balderson (Fairfax, VA) totaling seven digs for the Lightning (2-1, 0-1 CACC).
 
Chase Wassel had 16 kills, Gianna Pesognelli pounded eight and Kelly Bergen notched 12 digs for the Tigers (4-6, 0-1).
 
Goldey-Beacom is home Saturday against Nyack, beginning at noon.
