Bruno Named First Team All-CACC; Bryson Tabbed Third Team

Goldey-Beacom women's basketball standout Lexi Bruno (Millville, NJ) capped another great year in being picked first team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and fellow sophomore Britani Bryson (Hampton, VA) was named third team all-league.
 
Bruno had yet another solid campaign thanks to her great all-around play that has her among the nation's elite.  She is 45th in the country with 17.9 points per game, 13th with 984 minutes played, 16th with 144 assists, 20th with 69 steals, 23rd with 183 field goals, 23rd with 5.1 assists per game, 24th with a 2.22 assist-to-turnover ratio and 32nd with 2.46 steals per contest.
 
Among Bruno's highlights this season was being voted the top Division II player in the country shorter than 5'5" by Hero Sports.  She also this season has been picked CACC Player of the Week twice and to the league's Weekly Honor Roll eight times.  Bruno also scored at least 20 points 11 times this season, notched three double-doubles and became the fourth player in team history to score at least 500 points in one season (502).
 
The 2015 CACC Rookie of the Year also last season was picked second team all-league and a member of the CACC All-Tournament Team.  She is eighth in school history with 969 points, third with 128 career 3-pointers, third with 290 assists and tied for seventh with 120 steals.
 
Bryson made herself a dominant presence in the post and gives the Lightning plenty of reasons for optimism in the future.  She is 16th in the country with 290 rebounds, 20th with 10.7 rebounds per game, tied for 27th with 12 double-doubles, 66th with 42 blocked shots, 13th in the league with 13.3 points per contest and 12th with a .444 field goal percentage.
 
The owner of double-doubles in each of her last three games as well as four straight earlier this season, Bryson was named CACC Player of the Week once as well as to the Weekly Honor Roll seven times.  She also is 15th in school history with 676 career points, fourth with 74 blocks, 10th with 498 rebounds and sixth with a .438 field goal percentage.
 
Goldey-Beacom (9-19, 9-10 CACC) this year sported a team with no seniors, two juniors and still was in contention for a spot in the CACC Tournament going into the season's final weekend.  The starting lineup for a majority of the season was comprised of four sophomores and one junior.
