Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Rolls to 10-0 Victory at Lincoln (PA)

Senior Cindell Aguirre (El Paso, TX) tied the school's career shutout record with junior Amy Runciman (Luton, England), senior Jane Grimley (Franklinville, NJ) and sophomore Sophie Woods (Manchester, England) all scoring twice for Goldey-Beacom, which cruised to a 10-0 rout at Lincoln (PA) in Oxford, PA.

Aguirre recorded four saves and equaled the career mark of 14 shutouts she now shares with Stephanie Steele (2003-06).  It also was her sixth shutout of the season to match her personal best, just one off the school record.

Runciman's second brace of the season gives her five goals and 14 points on the campaign.  Her 17 career goals move her into a tie for sixth place in school history and her 54 points place her fifth.

The Lightning (8-2-1), who scored seven times in the second half, also got goals from sophomore Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland), junior Halle Thomas (Mantua, NJ), senior Becca Cordo (Roosevelt, NJ) and sophomore Juana Henao (Bogota, Colombia).  GBC had a 12-4 edge in the second half and 19-6 overall, one year after recording a 13-0 home triumph over the Lady Lions (1-7).

Goldey-Beacom hits the road Saturday to visit Dominican (NY) as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.  The women's game starts at noon, followed by the men's contest at 2:30 pm.
