Volleyball Splits Two in Tri-Match



Goldey-Beacom ended its tri-match in North Jersey with a 3-1 victory (25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 25-13) over Mercy after opening with a 3-0 loss Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (14-25, 18-25, 19-25) to Bloomfield in Bloomfield, NJ.
 
Versus Mercy, freshman Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, NJ) notched 20 kills and 10 digs, senior Grace McCarthy (Middletown, DE) recorded 10 kills and sophomore Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) recorded 36 assists for GBC (8-11).
 
Brianna Heffernan recorded 11 kills and 12 digs, Floriana Rraci notched 17 digs and Brooke Runge had 25 assists for the Mavericks (3-13)
 
Against Bloomfield, Przywara continued her stellar play with 11 kills and seven digs.  McCarthy recorded six kills, Florence amassed 19 assists and freshman Makinsie Balderson (Fairfax, VA) had six digs.
 
Valerie Bermudez closed with 11 kills and 10 digs for the Bears (14-10, 11-2 CACC).
 
Goldey-Beacom is home Tuesday against Georgian Court, beginning at 7:00 pm.
