Game Recap: Volleyball |

Volleyball Handed 3-1 Loss by Georgian Court

Goldey-Beacom withstood four match points in the fourth set, but its effort fell short in a 3-1 loss (23-25, 25-19, 19-25, 27-29) to Georgian Court in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.

The third set saw the Lightning amass 13 kills with freshman Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, NJ) getting six and a .286 hitting percentage.  But the Lions only had three errors in the set and posted a .300 percentage.

The wild fourth set produced a 15-14 kills edge for Goldey-Beacom and seven kills from Przywara, the reigning CACC Player and Rookie of the Week.  The Lightning held a 20-18 lead, but the Lions scored the next four points aided by kills from Kelsie Blue and Peggy Rosario.

The set finally culminated when, after Blue got a kill to make it 28-27, Georgian Court capitalized on its fifth match point with Blue and Amy Bruno combining for a block assist.

Przywara's amazing year got better with a career-best 29 kills, marking the third time in the last four matches she has notched at least 20.  She also recorded 13 digs for her fourth double-double of the year.

Senior Grace McCarthy (Middletown, DE) notched 18 kills and 15 digs for her fourth double-double of the season, sophomore Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) dished 51 assists to match her career high and freshman Courtney Bublitz (North East, MD) totaled 13 digs for the Lightning (8-12, 4-10 CACC).

Kelsey Oliver passed 38 assists, Janelli Torres recorded 26 digs, Rosario notched 13 kills and Blue had 12 for the Lions (15-14, 11-3).
