Lindsay Przywara’s Career Night Lifts Volleyball Past Wilmington

Freshman Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, NJ) turned tonight's match into a personal showcase, closing with a career-best 23 kills in Goldey-Beacom's 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory (25-18, 25-23, 26-24) at Wilmington (DE) in Newark.

Goldey-Beacom rolled in the first set with Przywara recording five kills and no errors for a .455 hitting percentage.  She continued her tear in the second set with eight kills and just one error for a .538 percentage, helping the Lightning to 18 kills and a .310 percentage.

Like a fine wine, Przywara only got better with time by recording 10 kills with no errors in the third set and fittingly ended things with an ace.  Her extraordinary play helped the Lightning (7-10, 4-8 CACC) to their first season sweep of the Wildcats (7-14, 4-8) since taking all three encounters in 2006.

Przywara had just one error over 49 attacks for an incredible .449 percentage and her 14 digs that tied her personal best helped toward her second career double-double.

Freshman Makinsie Balderson (Fairfax, VA) tied her personal best with 20 digs, senior Grace McCarthy (Middletown, DE) had a season-best 18 and sophomore Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) dished 36 assists for the Lightning.

Jill Braunsberg dished 17 assists, Miranda Shaw had 13 with Allison Briley getting nine kills and 16 digs for Wilmington.

Goldey-Beacom takes part in a tri-match Saturday in Bloomfield, NJ.  It will face Bloomfield in a league match at noon, followed by an encounter with Mercy after 2:00 pm.
