Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Turner-Rush’s Heroics Not Enough for Women’s Soccer in 3-2 Loss at Felician

Sophomore Tanner Turner-Rush (Harrisburg, PA) scored with 15 seconds left in regulation for Goldey-Beacom, but overtime was not kind to the visitors as Felician tallied for a 3-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory in Lyndhurst, NJ.

Goldey-Beacom got on the board in the 23rd minute for a 1-0 lead.  Junior Becca Cordo (Roosevelt, NJ) received a pass from sophomore Amy Runciman (Luton, England) and put a shot inside the top left corner for her second goal of the season and third career.

Felician squared the match, 1-1, in the 39th minute when Stephanie Hesse fed one to Danielle Stoll, who buried it from just inside the penalty area.

The Golden Falcons unfortunately took advantage of a huge break in the 87th minute to grab a 2-1 lead.  Mikaylah Davies fired a shot that junior Cindell Aguirre (El Paso, TX) made a great play to stop, but the ball was sitting there and Katina Kozlowski pounced on the rebound.

Defeat loomed for GBC before Turner-Rush came to the rescue, forcing extra time.  Freshman Rachel Geissler (Franklinville, NJ) threw a pass to Turner-Rush, who lofted a long shot from outside that box that found its way into the back of the net for her first career goal.

But Felician got the victory 5:35 into overtime when Kozlowski scored her second goal of the match, putting home a feed from Stoll.

Aguirre matched her personal best with 11 saves and three for the Lightning (1-5, 1-3 CACC) each fired two shots.

Stoll and Marissa Nieves each had five shots and Julia Sheridan amassed five saves for Felician (2-3, 2-1), which closed with a 19-9 shots edge that included 12-6 after intermission.

Goldey-Beacom is home Saturday against Post as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.  The women's match starts at 1:00 pm, which precedes the men's 4:00 pm contest.
