Volleyball Handed 3-0 Loss at Caldwell



Goldey-Beacom unfortunately ran into a determined Caldwell squad and left with a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (13-25, 11-25, 13-25) in Caldwell, NJ.
 
The Cougars set the tone in the first set with a 14-6 kills edge and a .462 hitting percentage.  They had 11 kills in the third set to end with a 32-20 overall advantage.
 
Sophomore Shyanne Shank (Lebanon, PA) had four kills and 13 digs, senior Innocent Early (Newark, NJ) and freshman Ellie Fleegle (Berlin, PA) also had four kills apiece with freshman Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) dishing 15 assists for the Lightning (6-18, 2-14 CACC).
 
Caldwell's Kelsey Blankerts had a day with eight kills and one error over 11 attacks for a .636 percentage.  Taryn Auyong and Katrina Janssen pounded six kills, Gabrielle Bennett amassed 20 assists and Jessica Mitchell added 15 digs for the Cougars (19-10, 11-5).
 
Goldey-Beacom is home Thursday against Bowie State, starting at 7:00 pm.
