Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Falls, 4-0, to Holy Family

Goldey-Beacom's final league game of the season did not go as planned as it was dealt a 4-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss by Holy Family at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.

The Tigers needed just over three minutes to score the first goal.  Stephanie Ulmer received a great outlet feed from Ashley Shackleford and buried her eighth goal of the season.

Ursula Coyle gave Holy Family some breathing room in the 43rd minute, banging in a corner kick after it was deflected by Shannon Metzler for a 2-0 margin and her eighth tally of the season.

Shackleford scored off a great 20-yard shot inside the post in the 54th minute and Nicole Wright tallied in the 69th minute to close the scoring.  Samantha O'Donnell and Alyssa Christiansen got the helpers.

Ulmer closed with four shots and Kacie Booth made three saves over 45 minutes for the Tigers (11-5-1, 9-2-1 CACC), who only held a 12-11 shots edge.

Sophomore Tanner Turner-Rush (Harrisburg, PA) and junior Tatiana Marshall (Camden, DE) each fired three shots for the Lightning (7-9, 5-7).  Junior Cindell Aguirre (El Paso, TX) amassed six saves.

Goldey-Beacom already was locked into the eighth seed for the conference tournament entering today and will be on the road in the quarterfinals at the top seed, which still is to be determined.  That game will be next Tuesday at 2:00 pm.

Goldey-Beacom is home Saturday for its regular-season finale against Pittsburgh-Johnstown, starting at 2:00 pm.
