Men’s Cross Country Ends Third at CACC Championship

Goldey-Beacom's men's cross country team had a strong showing at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship by closing third and the women ended ninth in Philadelphia, PA.

Once again leading the charge on the men's side was senior Aaron Easter (Elkton, MD), who earned his third straight All-CACC nod by ending ninth in 28:32.2. Senior Logan Jones (Frederick, MD) also made the All-CACC squad, running the 8,000-meter course in 29:03.5 to finish 14th.

Junior Rudy Braxton (Bear, DE) just missed all-conference status by 12 seconds as he finished 18th in 29:25.4. Sophomore Victor Rueda-Jimenez (Milford, DE) was 24th in 29:37.8 and senior Jonathan Mbwiri (Newark, DE) closed 43rd in 31:04.0.

The men scored 103 points and Wilmington (DE) won the title with 52 points.

Jordan Dodson (Port Deposit, MD) paced the women's crew by closing 21st in 21:14.8 and fellow sophomore Crystal McCollum (Elkton, MD) was 40th in 22:14.0 over the 6,000-meter course.

Sophomore Alyson Davis (Smyrna, DE) was 63rd in 24:34.3, senior Sarah Grzybowski (Wilmington, DE) ended 64th in 24:42.7 and freshman Chelby McCall (Chesapeake City, MD) closed 73rd in 26:24.0.

The Lightning ended with 261 points and Philadelphia U. took the crown with 31 points.

Both teams will compete at the NCAA Regional on November 8 in Hopkinton, NH.
