Volleyball Dealt 3-0 Loss by Chestnut Hill



The second go-around in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's South Division did not begin kindly for Goldey-Beacom, which was handed a 3-0 loss (15-25, 19-25, 12-25) by Chestnut Hill at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The first set saw the Griffins come out blazing with eight kills and just two errors.  Emily Koehler had three kills and a .750 hitting percentage for Chestnut Hill, which recorded a .273 percentage to GBC's -.071.
 
The third set was a decisive one for the visitors, who owned a 12-6 kills edge and a match-high .333 percentage.  Rachel Biro amassed four kills and a .571 percentage, Kennedy Sutton had nine assists and Madison McBride totaled five digs.
 
Koehler ended with a match-high nine kills to go with no errors and a startling .692 percentage.  Biro had eight kills and a .471 percentage, Sutton dished 26 assists, McBride notched 12 digs and Regina Trabosh added 10 and six aces for the Griffins (8-16, 7-4 CACC).
 
Chestnut Hill totaled 30 kills and a .307 percentage.
 
Junior Grace McCarthy (Middletown, DE) pounded seven kills to go with eight digs and freshman Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) totaled 14 assists and seven digs for the Lightning (6-14, 2-10).  Florence now has 493 assists for the eighth-best single season total in GBC history and she is ninth overall in team annals.
 
Goldey-Beacom is home Saturday against Felician as part of its "Dig Pink" day.  Fans attending the noon match are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.
