Holy Family Holds Off Volleyball for Four-Set Victory

Cipolletti Tallies Third "Double Double" of Season in Loss



WILMINGTON, Del.
– Junior right side hitter Rachel Johnson (Lincoln Way West H.S./New Lenox, Ill.) tallied 16 kills and added seven digs to lead Holy Family University (6-9, 4-1) to its third win in a row, a four-set Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (7-8, 2-4) at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Tuesday evening.

The Tigers claimed the victory by set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 19-25 and 28-26.

One of three Holy Family players with 10 or more kills, Johnson also tallied four blocks with a service ace. Freshman outside hitter Melanie Ingram (Upper Merion H.S./King of Prussia, Pa.) added 13 kills with nine digs while sophomore outside hitter Katelyn Scherber (Forest Park H.S./Woodbridge, Va.) contributed 11 kills.

Senior setter Devyn Ingram (Upper Merion H.S./King of Prussia, Pa.), who earned CACC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday, recorded a season-high 49 assists with six digs and three service aces for the Tigers.

Senior outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) led the Lightning in the loss with a match-high 17 kills while adding eight digs. Sophomore outside hitter Grace McCarthy (Delaware Military Academy/Middletown, Del.) came off the bench to contribute 10 kills while junior setter Danielle Cipolletti (Scottsdale H.S./Scottsdale, Ariz.) posted a "double double" with 33 assists and 16 digs.

· In a back and forth affair, there were 33 ties and 16 lead changes … There were 10 ties and four lead changes in the fourth set.
· Tuesday's match between the Lightning and the Tigers marked the 23rd all-time meeting … Holy Family has won the last 15 meetings and leads the all-time series by a 15-8 margin.  
· The two teams will meet again in Philadelphia on Oct. 21.
· Senior defensive specialist Niki Receveur (Concord H.S./Wilmington, Del.) posted 10 or more digs for the ninth time this season after tallying a team-high 17 digs on Tuesday … She increased her career total to 1,094 digs, the fifth-highest total in school history.
· McCoy posted her ninth 10-kill effort of the season on Tuesday … With 208 kills in 15 matches, she leads the CACC … In addition, McCoy upped her school-record career total to 1,180 kills.
· Cipolletti had 33 assists against Holy Family on Tuesday night, marking the ninth time this year she has posted 30 or more assists in a match … With 462 assists in 15 matches, Cipolletti leads the CACC and ranks second in the CACC by averaging 8.56 assists per set.
· In addition, Cipolletti recorded her third "double double" of the season on Tuesday night … She had 25 assists with 16 digs at Chestnut Hill on Sept. 16 before a 25-assist, 12-dig effort against Bowie State on Sept. 20.  
· Sophomore defensive specialist Laura Tamas (Belgium) posted a season-high 30 digs in the win over Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday night … It marked the third time this season she has tallied 20 or more digs.  
· Johnson has recorded 10 or more kills in five of her last six matches … She leads the Tigers with 160 kills in 15 matches this year.
· Ingram posted her second 40-assist match of the season … She contributed 47 assists in a four-set match against the University of the Sciences on Sept. 16.
