PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Junior guard Lillian Chukwueze (Cherry Hill East H.S./Cherry Hill, N.J.) scored 17 of her game-high 23 points in the second half as Goldey-Beacom College (10-11, 7-7) overcame a 19-point deficit to earn its third win in the last four games, a 73-66 victory over defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference champion Holy Family University (12-8, 10-3) at the Campus Center on Wednesday evening.

Led by Chukwueze, the Lightning snapped a six-game losing streak against the Tigers while handing Holy Family its third loss in a row.

Trailing by a 50-33 margin with 14:27 remaining, the Lightning used a 25-8 run to tie the game at 58-58 with 6:27 left in the second half on a lay-up by junior forward Chelsea Grover (Seneca H.S./Southampton, N.J.). Chukwueze led the Lightning during the run by scoring eight points.

After a three-point field goal by sophomore guard Erin Fenningham (St. Basil Academy/Philadelphia, Pa.) regained the Tigers' lead, Goldey-Beacom scored the next 10 points to take a 68-61 advantage on a Chukwueze three-point field goal with 2:30 remaining.

The Tigers trimmed the deficit to 68-66 with 53 seconds remaining, but Grover and senior forward Briana Richmond-Peters (Brimm Medical Arts H.S./Camden, N.J.) combined to make five free throws in the final 45 seconds to secure the victory.

Holy Family used a 15-point performance from senior guard Mary Ellen McCollum (St. Basil Academy/Abington, Pa.) to build a 41-22 lead in the first half before the Lightning started their comeback.

En route to her second straight 20-point effort, Chukwueze made 8 of 14 shots from the floor, including a 3-for-6 effort from three-point range, while adding eight rebounds and four assists. Richmond-Peters added 15 points with nine rebounds while Grover tallied 12 points with eight rebounds.

Fenningham led the Tigers in a losing effort by scoring 17 points while McCollum and junior forward Sarah Pawlak (Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart/North Tonawanda, N.Y.) each contributed 15 points.

The Lightning will return home on Saturday, Feb. 8 to host Bloomfield College in a CACC match-up at the Jones Center at 1 p.m.
