WATERBURY, Conn. - Freshman guard Liz Falcigno (Mercy H.S./Middletown, Conn.) scored 17 of her game-high 24 points in the first half as Post University (7-11, 7-5) built an early lead and held on to edge Goldey-Beacom College (9-11, 6-7) by an 82-78 margin in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game at the Drubner Center on Saturday afternoon.

Led by Falcigno, the Eagles earned their second win in a row while defeating the Lightning for the first time since Feb. 10, 2007, a streak of seven games. Meanwhile, the Lightning had their two-game win streak snapped.

In leading the Eagles to the victory, Falcigno made 8 of 15 shots from the floor, including a 4-for-5 effort from three-point range. She also converted four of five free throws while adding six rebounds, five steals and four assists.

Meanwhile, senior forward Raven Wright-James (Middletown H.S./Middletown, Conn.) added 14 points with eight rebounds while sophomore forward Hailey Griffin (Plainfield H.S./Plainfield, Conn.) contributed 13 points with six rebounds.

Junior guard Lillian Chukwueze (Cherry Hill East H.S./Cherry Hill, N.J.) tallied her fourth "double double" of the season in the loss for Goldey-Beacom, scoring a team-high 20 points with 10 rebounds. Junior forward Chelsea Grover (Seneca H.S./Southampton, N.J.) added her third "double double" of the season by scoring 17 points with 11 rebounds and four assists.

The Lightning held senior guard Aubrey Latham (Fitch H.S./Mystic, Conn.), who is the CACC's leading scorer, to just nine points, which matched a season low.

Goldey-Beacom will complete its short two-game road trip on Wednesday, Feb. 5 when the Lightning visit defending CACC champion Holy Family for a 6 p.m. CACC South Division game.
