Box Score Wilmington, Del.- The Goldey-Beacom College men's basketball team fell to 2-2 on the season as they were defeated by Bloomsburg University (5-0), 83-78, on Tuesday night at the Jones Center.
In a game that featured 10 players in double figures, there were seven lead changes and the score was knotted 10 times. Leading the way for the Huskies was Anthony McKie who scored a career high 20 points while shooting 5-of-6 from the floor and 2-of-3 from three point range. Matching the game high was Lightning senior guard
Joey Getz (Archbishop Wood H.S./ Philadelphia, Pa.), who also scored 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor and 3-of-5 from three. This was Getz' first 20 point effort of the season and his fourth consecutive game in double figures.
Senior center
Chris Gebhart (Cherry Hill West H.S./ Cherry Hill, N.J.) notched his first "double double" of the season as he scored 12 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, four of which were on the offensive glass.
The Lightning received a pleasant spark off the bench by way of senior guard
Curtis Hopkins (Williamstown H.S./ Williamstown, N.J.), who scored 11 points and knocking down three, three pointers. He also grabbed eight rebounds in just 21 minutes of play.
Senior forward
Derrick Archie (Christiana H.S./ Wilmington, Del.) played 29 minutes off the bench and scored 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the floor and hustled for nine rebounds just missing his first "double double" of the season.
Junior guard
Domineek Owens (Paul Robeson H.S./ Philadelphia, Pa.) shot 6-of-13 from the field and tallied 16 points in the loss for the Lightning. This is the third game this season that Owens has reached double digits in scoring.
The Lightning will look to rebound from their two game losing streak when they travel to Millersville University on Saturday afternoon for a 1 PM tip-off against the Marauders.
