WILMINGTON, Del. - In the 2013 Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic, the host Lightning needed a tiebreaker to claim the team title at its home meet. On Saturday morning at Banning Park, there was no need for a tiebreaker as the Lightning had six runners place among the top 20 finishers to earn the team championship for the second year in a row.
The Lightning scored 39 points to win the team title while Bloomfield finished in second place with 63 points. Rowan College of Gloucester County earned third place after posting 70 points.
Junior
Logan Jones (Tuscarora H.S./Frederick, Md.) led the Lightning by finishing in third place with a time of 28 minutes, 13 seconds while junior
Aaron Easter (Rising Sun H.S./Elkton, Md.) followed in fourth place by crossing the finish line in a time of 28:27.
Freshman
Chandler Brooks (Bohemia Manor H.S./Warwick, Md.) earned fifth place by completing the 8K course in a time of 29 minutes, 9 seconds while sophomore
Rudy Braxton (Hodgson Vo-Tech H.S./Bear, Del.) posted an 11th place time of 30 minutes, 15 seconds.
Freshman
Victor Rueda-Jimenez (Sussex Technical H.S./Milford, Del.) recorded a time of 30:30 to earn 16th place while freshman
Justin Morris (Harford Tech H.S./Abingdon, Md.) crossed the finish line in 30 minutes, 55 seconds.
