WILMINGTON, Del. – Senior forward Briana Richmond-Peters (Brimm Medical Arts H.S./Camden, N.J.) scored 12 points and added a career-high 18 rebounds as Goldey-Beacom College (9-10, 6-6) earned its second straight win, a 63-50 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Georgian Court University (3-16, 2-9) at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Tuesday evening.

Richmond-Peters, who became the 12th player in school history to appear in 100 career games, tallied her second "double double" of the season as the Lightning earned their 17th consecutive win over the Lions. Meanwhile, Georgian Court lost its seventh game in a row and dropped to 0-9 in road games this season.

The Lions sprinted out to an early 8-1 lead in the opening five minutes of the first half as the Lightning missed their first nine shots from the field. However, Goldey-Beacom rallied by going on a 22-7 run over the next 11 minutes to take a commanding 23-15 lead on a jumper by junior guard Shantia Creech (Hunt H.S./Philadelphia, Pa.).

After the Lions trimmed the margin to 23-17 with a pair of free throws, the Lightning scored six of the final eight points to take a 29-19 lead into the intermission.

Trailing by a 36-24 margin just five minutes into the second half, the Lions used a 10-0 run over a four-minute span to narrow the deficit to 36-34 with 11:30 remaining. Junior forward Ashiri Broadwater (Proviso East H.S./Chicago, Ill.) scored four points for the Lions during the run.

But, the Lightning answered with an 11-point surge to increase their advantage to 47-34 on a Creech lay-up with 6:06 left. From there, the Lightning led by at least six points for the final six minutes of the game.

While Richmond-Peters led the Lightning to the victory, Creech came off the bench to score a season-high 15 points after making four of nine field goal attempts in addition to going 7-for-8 from the free throw line. Junior guard Lillian Chukwueze (Cherry Hill East H.S./Cherry Hill, N.J.) added 13 points while contributing six rebounds.

Junior forward Tahira Matthews (Bloomfield H.S./Bloomfield, N.J.) led Georgian Court with 14 points and eight rebounds while Broadwater came off the bench to score 11 points with three rebounds.

The Lightning, who have won three of their last five games, will begin a two-game road trip on Saturday, Feb. 1 when they travel to Post University for a CACC contest against the Eagles.
