WILMINGTON, Del. - Led by freshman guard Donte McGill (Mont Clare Academy/Newark, Del.), Goldey-Beacom College (8-10, 6-6) connected on a season-high 14 three-point field goals en route to an 82-67 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Georgian Court University (2-17, 0-12) at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Tuesday evening.

McGill, who is the Lightning's leading scorer, erupted for a season-high 29 points as the Lightning handed Georgian Court its 14th loss in a row.

The Lightning, who never trailed in the game, sprinted out to a 22-8 lead in the opening seven minutes of the game by making 8 of their first 11 shots from the floor.

After an eight-point run by the Lions trimmed the margin to 22-16 with 10:12 left in the opening stanza, the Lightning scored 11 consecutive points, including a pair of three-point field goals by junior guard Robert Sweet (Rice-Manhattan Center H.S./New York, N.Y.), to increase their lead to 33-16 with 5:14 remaining in the period.

The Lightning continued to build their lead and had a 42-28 advantage at the intermission.

McGill, who tallied 18 of his points in the second half, scored the first eight points after the intermission to extend the Goldey-Beacom advantage to 50-28 with 17:59 remaining. The Lightning continued to build their lead and enjoyed their largest advantage at 66-39 with 12:48 left after a McGill three-point field goal.

The Lightning never trailed by fewer than 15 points in the second half en route to securing their second straight win.

McGill, who recorded his fourth 20-point game of the season, made 10 of 12 shots from the floor, including a perfect 6-for-6 from three-point range, while making three of four free throws. Meanwhile, junior guard Kyle Steinbergin (Teaneck H.S./Englewood, N.J.) made five of nine attempts from beyond the arc en route to scoring 15 points while junior center Chris Gebhart (Cherry Hill West H.S./Cherry Hill, N.J.) added 12 points with five rebounds.

Junior forward Jordan Wejnert (Point Pleasant, N.J.) led Georgian Court with 21 points and nine rebounds. He made 5 of 19 shots from the floor along with an 11-for-13 performance from the free throw line. Freshman forward Keith Hughes (Robinson School/Woodbridge, N.J.) contributed a "double double" by scoring 13 points with 12 rebounds.

The Lightning will play five of their next six games on the road beginning with a CACC contest at Post University on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m.

• The Lightning set a season high by scoring 42 points in the first half.
• Goldey-Beacom scored 80 or more points for the fourth time this season.
• In the last two games, the Lightning have made 26 of 59 (.440) three-point field goal attempts.
• The 14 made three-point field goals are the most by a Goldey-Beacom team since Feb. 9, 2011 when the Lightning made 15 of 29 attempts in an 80-79 loss against Chestnut Hill.
• In two games against the Lions this year, the Lightning made 25 of 46 (.543) three-point field goal attempts.
• McGill has scored 10 or more points in six consecutive games.
• Junior guard Jarrel Lane set a season high by recording nine assists against the Lions.
• Wejnert tallied 20 or more points for the 10th time this season.
