RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Led by a season-high 21 points from freshman guard
Parris Ridgeway-Higgs, the Goldey-Beacom College men's basketball team (7-10, 5-6) overcame a 15-point second half deficit to snap a two-game losing streak with a 99-89 double overtime victory over Felician College (4-14, 2-9) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game at the Golden Falcons' Job Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Ridgeway-Higgs, who led six Lightning players in double figures, tallied 8 of his 21 points in the overtime periods as the Lightning rallied from a 52-37 deficit with 12:17 left in regulation to hand the Golden Falcons their 10th consecutive loss.
In recording the first 20-point effort of his college career, Ridgeway-Higgs made 7 of 13 shots from the floor, including three of seven three-point field goal attempts, while connecting on four of five free throws. He also matched a season high by contributing six assists with two steals.
Junior forward
Derrick Archie earned his first "double double" of the season by scoring 19 points with a team-high 12 rebounds and five assists while freshman guard
Donte McGill added 18 points with seven rebounds and four assists.
Junior center
Chris Gebhart scored 10 points with seven rebounds and four blocked shots for the Lightning while senior forward
Will Williams came off the bench to contribute 10 points. In addition, junior guard
Robert Sweet made four of seven attempts from three-point range en route to a 12-point performance.
The Golden Falcons were led by junior forward
Jeyvi Miavivululu, who recorded a "double double" with a game-high 24 points and 16 rebounds. Junior forward
J.R. Pringley made 10 of 16 shots from the floor to contribute 24 points while adding seven rebounds and three assists.
The Lightning will return home on Tuesday, Jan. 28 to host Georgian Court in a CACC South Division contest at the Joseph West Jones College Center at 8 p.m.
