PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Junior guard Tenisha Townsend-Mobley (Holy Spirit H.S./Pleasantville, N.J.) scored the game-winning jumper with 31 seconds remaining to lead Chestnut Hill College (4-12, 2-7) to an exciting 49-47 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (7-9, 4-5) at Sorgenti Arena on Tuesday evening.

The win allowed the Griffins to avenge a 58-52 overtime setback against the Lightning on Dec. 18 while handing Goldey-Beacom its fourth loss in the last five games.

After the Lightning tied the game at 47-47 with 48 seconds left on a lay-up by junior forward Chelsea Grover (Seneca H.S./Southampton, N.J.), Townsend-Mobley scored an unassisted jumper to give the Griffins a two-point edge.

Grover and junior guard Lillian Chukwueze (Cherry Hill East H.S./Cherry Hill, N.J.) each had a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds, but they missed their field goal attempts as the Griffins held on for the victory.

Led by seven points from Chukwueze, the Lightning built an 18-16 advantage in the first half while holding Chestnut Hill to just five made field goals and posting a commanding 28-16 rebounding advantage.

The Lightning led by as many as four points in the second half before a 7-2 run by Chestnut Hill gave the Griffins a 33-32 edge with 10:11 left.

However, the Lightning reclaimed the advantage and built their largest lead of the game at 42-37 on a Chukwueze lay-up with 4:17 remaining.

But, a 10-3 run by the Griffins gave them a 47-45 margin with 1:07 left before Grover tied the game with 48 seconds remaining.

Junior guard Olivia Gorczynski (Cardinal McCarrick H.S./Parlin, N.J.) led Chestnut Hill to the victory by scoring a game-high 17 points. She made five of eight three-point field goal attempts in addition to a pair of free throws.

Meanwhile, senior forward Annie Farrow (Ocean Township, N.J.) made 7 of 10 shots from the floor en route to a 14-point effort.

Chukwueze and Grover each led Goldey-Beacom with 14 points. Grover also contributed 10 rebounds for her second "double double" of the season.

The Lightning will be idle until Wednesday, Jan. 22 when they host the University of the Sciences in a CACC game at 6 p.m.
