Reich Leads Men's Cross Country to Fifth Place at Salisbury

Senior Finishes in 7th Place to Lead Lightning

The Lightning men's cross country team finished in fifth place at the Cathcart Invitational on Saturday.

WILMINGTON, Del. - Senior Stewart Reich (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.) finished in seventh place to lead the Goldey-Beacom College men's cross country team to a fifth place finish at the 25th Annual Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University at Winter Place Park on Saturday afternoon.

East Stroudsburg, which placed five runners in the top 11 spots, won the team title by scoring 30 points while York College (Pa.) followed in 67 points to take second place. Salisbury University finished in third place after scoring 72 points.

Reich, who finished as the Lightning's top runner for the fourth consecutive meet, turned in a time of 25 minutes, 38 seconds in the 6K race. Meanwhile, sophomore Logan Jones (Tuscarora H.S./Frederick, Md.) followed in 30th place by crossing the finish line in a time of 26:58.

Sophomore Aaron Easter (Rising Sun H.S./Elkton, Md.) turned in a time of 27:30 to earn 45th place while freshman Rudy Braxton (Hodgson Vo-Tech H.S./Bear, Del.) completed the race in 63rd place with a time of 28:25.

Senior Hugo Morales (Walkersville H.S./Frederick, Md.) posted a time of 30 minutes, 12 seconds for a 91st place finish while senior Jabari Chambers (Howard H.S./Wilmington, Del.) rounded out the Lightning contingent with a 103rd place finish of 31 minutes, 0 seconds.

The Lightning will host the annual Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Carousel Park beginning at 9:45 a.m.
