WILMINGTON, Del. – Junior guard
Alberto Munoz (Cardinal Gibbons H.S./Morrisville, N.C.) led a group of five players in double figures with a game-high 15 points as Holy Family University (17-9, 13-4) claimed the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference South Division regular season title after posting an 84-61 victory over Goldey-Beacom College (8-18, 4-13) on Senior Day at the Lightning's Joseph West Jones College Center on Saturday afternoon.
Munoz, who made 5 of 15 shots from the floor and all three of his free throw attempts, also contributed four assists and four rebounds as the Tigers earned the outright division title for the first time in school history. Holy Family earned a share of the CACC's South Division title during the 2004-05 and 2006-07 seasons.
Led by a pair of three-point field goals from junior guard
A.J. Picard (Souderton Area H.S./Skippack, Pa.), the Lightning sprinted out to a 13-9 lead in the opening eight minutes of the first half.
Goldey-Beacom remained in the lead until the Tigers put together an 8-0 run, including a pair of field goals from freshman guard
Tuhran Griffin (Franklin Learning Center/Philadelphia, Pa.), to take a 23-18 advantage with 5:35 left in the period.
The Lightning trimmed the deficit to 26-23 before the Tigers scored 10 of the final 12 points in the first half to take a 36-25 advantage into the intermission.
Led by five points from sophomore forward
Richard Council (Rice H.S./New York, N.Y.), the Tigers extended their cushion to 50-33 in the opening seven minutes of the second half while holding Goldey-Beacom to just two field goals.
After back-to-back baskets from redshirt freshman forward
Julian Wright (Archbishop Stepinac H.S./Mount Vernon, N.Y.) and senior forward
Lawrence Livingston (Caesar Rodney H.S./Dover, Del.), the Tigers used a 12-5 run to expand the margin to 62-42 on a three-point field goal by junior guard
Ervin Ezell (Deptford H.S./Deptford, N.J.) with 8:24 left.
From there, the Tigers led by at least 15 points over the final eight minutes en route to their third consecutive victory over the Lightning.
While Munoz led the Tigers to the victory, Council contributed 13 points after making six of nine field goals and one of four free throw attempts. He also had eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
Ezell added 11 points while senior forward
Angel Ayala (William Allen H.S./Allentown, Pa.) came off the bench to score 12 points.
Picard led Goldey-Beacom in a losing effort by scoring 14 points with four rebounds and three assists while Livingston added nine points with seven rebounds in the final game of his college career. Meanwhile, junior forward
Will Williams (Eldon Academy/Flushing, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 11 points with seven rebounds.

Malcolm Keys (Sussex Central H.S./Lewes, Del.) were honored in a pre-game ceremony on the occasion of their final college game. Keys made his first start of the season and had two rebounds with two assists in 12 minutes.
