Led by nine points from sophomore guard Khalid Samuels (Mount Vernon H.S./Mount Vernon, N.Y.), the Warriors jumped out to a 22-12 lead in the opening nine minutes of the first half.

The Lightning trimmed the deficit to seven points with 1:28 remaining in the opening stanza before the Warriors scored six of the final nine points in the period to take a 42-33 lead into the intermission.

Picard, who made 6 of 10 shots from the floor and four of six free throws, was one of four Goldey-Beacom players to score in double figures.
