WILMINGTON, Del. - Junior guard Lillian Chukwueze (Cherry Hill East H.S./Cherry Hill, N.J.) scored 8 of her game-high 22 points in overtime and also added a season-high 15 rebounds as Goldey-Beacom College (6-5, 3-1) ended a two-game losing skid with a 58-52 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Chestnut Hill College (1-7, 0-4) at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Wednesday evening.

The win allowed the Lightning to end a two-game losing streak while extending the Griffins' skid to three games in a row.

Led by Chukwueze, the Lightning overcame a seven-point deficit with 5:08 remaining in regulation to force overtime. After back-to-back jumpers by senior forward Briana Richmond-Peters (Brimm Medical Arts H.S./Camden, N.J.) and junior forward Chelsea Grover (Seneca H.S./Southampton, N.J.) trimmed the deficit to 48-45 with 2:09 left, Chukwueze converted one of two free throws for a 48-46 deficit with 1:39 remaining.

With 1:02 left in regulation, Chukwueze made a jumper to tie the game at 48-48.

The Griffins had one final chance as time expired to earn the win, but a jumper by junior guard Shayla Felder (Cheltenham H.S./Cheltenham, Pa.) was blocked by Chukwueze and the game went into overtime.

Chukwueze scored five of the first seven points in the overtime period to give Goldey-Beacom a 53-50 advantage with 3:13 left in the period, but a pair of free throws by senior forward Aimee Bouie (Alexis I. duPont H.S./New Castle, Del.) narrowed the gap to 53-52 with 1:42 remaining.

However, a traditional three-point play by Chukwueze gave the Lightning a 56-52 edge with 54 seconds remaining before Richmond-Peters and junior guard Shantia Creech (Hunt H.S./Philadelphia, Pa.) each hit one of two free throws in the final 15 seconds to secure the victory.

Led by seven points from junior guard Tenisha Townsend-Mobley (Holy Spirit H.S./Pleasantville, N.J.), the Griffins jumped out to a 25-20 lead in the first half.

Chukwueze, who tallied her third "double double" of the season, posted her second consecutive 20-point game while contributing five steals with three assists and a blocked shot. Meanwhile, Creech and Richmond-Peters each contributed 11 points while Grover added 10 points with eight rebounds.

Junior guard Olivia Gorczynski (Cardinal McCarrick H.S./Parlin, N.J.) led Chestnut Hill with 15 points with two assists and two steals while Bouie came off the bench to post her first "double double" of the season with an 11-point, 10-rebound effort.

The Lightning, who have won three consecutive CACC games, will play their final game of the 2013 calendar year on Saturday, Dec. 21 with a conference game at Philadelphia University. Opening tip-off between the Lightning and the Rams is slated for 1 p.m. at the Gallagher Center.
