BOSTON, Mass. - Senior
Stewart Reich (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.) finished in 45th place to lead Goldey-Beacom College to a 16th place team finish at the 2013 NCAA Division II East Region Championship at Franklin Park on Sunday afternoon.
Led by Reich, the Lightning posted their highest team finish at the NCAA meet in school history, surpassing the 18th place effort they posted in 2003. Stonehill finished in first place with 78 points while Franklin Pierce took second place after scoring 97 points.
An All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference selection, Reich posted a time of 33 minutes, 36 seconds in his final collegiate race. Meanwhile, sophomore
Logan Jones (Tuscarora H.S./Frederick, Md.) followed in 83rd after completing the 10K race in a time of 34:42.
Sophomore
Aaron Easter (Rising Sun H.S./Elkton, Md.), who also earned All-CACC honors this season, crossed the finish line in a time of 34:55 to earn 88th place.
Freshman
Rudy Braxton (Hodgson Vo-Tech H.S./Bear, Del.) turned in a time of 35 minutes, 30 seconds while freshman
Ludric Francis (Smyrna H.S./Smyrna, Del.) finished in 153rd place with a time of 37 minutes, 41 seconds.
