Men's Cross Country Claims Team Title at GBC Fall Classic

Reich Earns Individual Honors as Lightning Earn 2nd Team Title of Season

WILMINGTON, Del. – Senior Stewart Reich (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.) finished in first place out of 73 runners to lead Goldey-Beacom College to the team title at its annual Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic at Carousel Park on Saturday morning.

The Lightning, who had three runners finish in the top 11 spots, earned the team title after edging Ocean County by virtue of a tiebreaker after both teams scored 64 points. Meanwhile, Gloucester County finished in third place with 72 points.

Reich, who earned his first individual title of the season, completed the 8K course in a time of 28 minutes, 39 seconds while sophomore Logan Jones (Tuscarora H.S./Frederick, Md.) followed in fifth place with a time of 29:49.

Sophomore Aaron Easter (Rising Sun H.S./Elkton, Md.) earned 11th place after crossing the finish line in 30 minutes, 38 seconds while freshman Rudy Braxton (Hodgson Vo-Tech H.S./Bear, Del.) claimed 21st place with a time of 32:15.

Seniors Hugo Morales (Walkersville H.S./Frederick, Md.) and Jabari Chambers (Howard H.S./Wilmington, Del.) earned 29th and 30th places, respectively, while freshman Ludric Francis (Smyrna H.S./Smyrna, Del.) posted a time of 35 minutes, 6 seconds to earn 40th place.

The Lightning, who claimed their second team championship of the season, will compete at the College of Staten Island Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12.
