Reich, Easter Lead Men's Cross Country to 4th Place at CACC Meet

Lightning Post Top Team Finish Since 2005

Aaron Easter and the Lightning earned fourth place at the CACC Championship on Sunday.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Led by senior Stewart Reich (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.) and sophomore Aaron Easter (Rising Sun H.S./Elkton, Md.), the Goldey-Beacom College men's cross country team posted its best team finish since 2005 after claiming fourth place at the 2013 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship held at Belmont Plateau on Sunday morning.

The Lightning, who had their best team effort since a second place finish in the 2005 championship, scored 103 points while placing three runners in the top 20 spots. Meanwhile, Wilmington University earned the team title after sweeping the top five places to score 15 points. Philadelphia University followed in second place with 64 points while Felician edged the Lightning for third place with 103 points.

Reich, who has been the Lightning's top finisher for all but one race this season, finished the 8K course in a time of 28 minutes, 17 seconds to earn 12th place. Meanwhile, Easter finished in 13th place after crossing the finish line in a time of 28:24.

Sophomore Logan Jones (Tuscarora H.S./Frederick, Md.) followed in 20th place by completing the race in a time of 29:02 while freshman Rudy Braxton (Hodgson Vo-Tech H.S./Bear, Del.) earned 21st place after posting a mark of 29:03.

Senior Hugo Morales (Walkersville H.S./Frederick, Md.) posted a time of 30:46 to earn 37th place while freshman Ludric Francis (Smyrna H.S./Smyrna, Del.) followed in 42nd place after finishing the race in 31 minutes, 16 seconds.

Senior Jabari Chambers (Howard H.S./Wilmington, Del.) rounded out the Lightning's contingent by finishing in 50th place with a time of 32:17.

The Lightning will end the 2013 season on Sunday, Nov. 10 by competing at the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship at Franklin Park.
