WILMINGTON, Del. – Junior guard Zach Krischer (Comsewogue H.S./Port Jefferson, N.Y.) scored 20 of his game-high 25 points in the second half as Post University (12-8, 8-5) used a 29-9 surge after the intermission to earn a 76-72 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (5-14, 2-9) at the Lightning's Joseph West Jones College Center on Saturday afternoon.

Krischer, who tallied 20 or more points for the fifth time this season, tallied 17 of his 20 second-half points during the 29-9 run as the Eagles overcame a seven-point deficit at the intermission to snap a brief two-game losing streak.

Trailing by 33-26 to open the second half, the Eagles used back-to-back field goals in the first minute of the period to close within 33-30 on a jumper by junior forward Devin Willis (Bothell H.S./Seattle, Wash.).

After the Lightning expanded their lead to 40-36 on a three-point field goal by sophomore guard Marcus Porter (Howard H.S./Wilmington, Del.), the Eagles erupted for 14 straight points, including 11 from Krischer, to build a 50-40 advantage with 11:44 remaining in regulation.

A pair of free throws by junior guard A.J. Picard (Souderton Area H.S./Skippack, Pa.) briefly ended the Eagles' run with 11:38 remaining, but a 10-4 run by Post that included a pair of three-point field goals upped the Eagles' lead to 60-46 with 8:53 left.

The Eagles maintained their double-digit advantage until a 6-0 run by the Lightning trimmed the deficit to 5:08 left on a pair of Porter free throws.

The Lightning narrowed the margin to 72-69 with 1:22 remaining, but the Eagles converted four of eight free throws in the final 80 seconds to earn the victory.

Led by eight points from sophomore guard Charles Jackson (Brandywine H.S./Wilmington, Del.), Goldey-Beacom jumped out to a 33-26 lead in the first half. The Lightning overcame an early five-point deficit by going on a 9-0 run to take an 11-7 lead they did not relinquish during the remainder of the period.

In leading the Eagles to the victory, Krischer made 9 of 18 shots from the floor, including a 7-for-14 effort from three-point range, while adding five rebounds and two assists. Meanwhile, Cummings added 12 points and seven rebounds.

Porter scored a team-high 18 points to lead the Lightning in a losing effort while sophomore guard Kyle Steinbergin (Teaneck H.S./Englewood, N.J.) came off the bench to post his third straight double-digit scoring performance with 11 points.

The Lightning held a slim 37-36 rebounding advantage over the Eagles, marking the seventh time in the last 10 games that Goldey-Beacom has outrebounded its opponent.

Goldey-Beacom, which has dropped seven straight games, will travel to the University of the Sciences on Tuesday night to face the Devils in a rematch of the Nov. 20 game that the Lightning won by a 56-55 margin.
