Opening Tip-Off
Returning home after a five-game road trip, the Lightning will resume their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schedule on Saturday afternoon by welcoming Caldwell College to the Joseph West Jones College Center. Opening tip-off between the Lightning and the Cougars is slated for 12 p.m. In addition, live stats and video for Saturday's game will be available on the Lightning's official athletics website, www.gbcathletics.com.

Updating the Lightning
Now 3-6 overall and 1-1 in the CACC, the Lightning have lost two straight games after a tough 60-48 setback against Millersville on Wednesday night at Pucillo Gymnasium. After taking a six-point lead at the intermission, the Lightning were held to just 16 points in the second half. Sophomore guard Marcus Porter, who is the Lightning's leading scorer with a 14.3 average, had a team-high 14 points while junior forward Jordan Thorpe added seven points with a team-high nine rebounds.

Scouting Caldwell
Off to a 3-6 start, the Cougars will be trying to snap a two-game losing streak when they visit Goldey-Beacom on Saturday. Caldwell, which has lost both of its CACC games so far this season, is coming off a 72-55 setback at Post University on Tuesday night. Sophomore guard Michael Balkovic led the Cougars with 11 points while freshman guard Dawan Lighty added a season-high 10 points. The Cougars will be playing away from home for the 9th time in their first 10 games, including a current four-game road trip. Caldwell Coach Mark Corino is in his 25th season as the Cougars' leader. Corino, who also spent time as the head coach at Bloomfield, needs just 16 wins to become the third coach in New Jersey college basketball history to reach 500 career victories. He has a 389-315 (.553) record during his career at Caldwell.

Series Business: Caldwell
Since the start of the 2001-02 season, the Lightning and the Cougars have met 18 times in a series that Caldwell leads by a commanding 14-4 margin. However, the Lightning have won three of the last five meetings, including each of the last two affairs. Led by 20 points from sophomore guard Marcus Porter, the Lightning posted an 84-74 victory over the Cougars in last year's meeting at the Newman Center. Porter made 8 of 13 shots from the floor, including three of six three-point attempts. The Lightning shot 56.1 per cent from the field in the victory.

Moving Up: A.J. Picard
With nine points in Wednesday night's loss against Millersville, junior guard A.J. Picard moved into 13th place on the Lightning's all-time scoring list. Entering Saturday's game against the Cougars, the Skippack, Pa. native has scored 602 points in his three-year career. A starter in all nine games this season, Picard is the Lightning's second-leading scorer with a 12.6 average.

Block Party
After recording a block in the Lightning's loss at Millersville on Wednesday night, senior forward Lawrence Livingston has tallied 22 blocks in nine games this season. Entering this week, he ranked 10th in NCAA Division II by averaging 2.63 blocks per game and was tied for the CACC lead in total blocks. Livingston, who is the lone senior on this year's team, ranks second in school history with 85 career blocks and needs 14 blocks to become the Lightning's all-time leader.

Making Them Count
Junior guard A.J. Picard has been one of the Lightning's leaders at the free throw line during his three-year career. In nine regular season games this year, he has converted 35 of 38 free throw attempts and ranks second in the CACC with a .921 free throw percentage (through games of Dec. 5). In addition, he also made all eight of his free throw attempts at Towson on Nov. 12 in an exhibition game. Over his last 15 games (excluding the Towson exhibition), the Skippack, Pa. native has made 59 of his last 64 free throw attempts (.922).

What's Ahead for Goldey-Beacom
The Lightning will make their shortest road trip of the season on Monday night when they travel to Wilmington University for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game against the Wildcats at 6 p.m.
