Opening Tip-Off
Looking to earn their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory of the season, the Lightning will finish their three-game road trip on Friday evening when they visit Concordia College for a 5 p.m. conference match-up against the Clippers. Updating the Lightning
Currently 3-5 overall and 0-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, the Lightning will be trying to snap a five-game losing streak when they travel to Concordia on Friday evening. The Lightning dropped a pair of games at the Dowling College Holiday Tournament last weekend, falling by a 57-41 margin against the host Golden Lions before a 73-64 setback against LIU Post on Sunday afternoon. Senior forward Irene Hudson had a season-high 24 points in the loss against the Pioneers on Sunday afternoon while senior guard Devonne Richardson had 14 points and 10 rebounds against Dowling for her second “double double” of the season. Richardson is the Lightning's leading scorer and rebounder by averaging 12.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.

Scouting Concordia
After dropping a 63-61 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference decision against Felician on Wednesday night, the Clippers will be trying to earn their first conference victory of the season when they face the Lightning. Now 1-7 overall and 0-3 in the CACC, the Clippers opened the year with six straight losses before posting a 78-67 victory over East Stroudsburg on Sunday afternoon. Senior guard Krystina Agard is the Clippers' leading scorer with a 14.1 average, which ranks eighth in the CACC. She has scored in double figures in seven of the Clippers' first eight games this season. In addition, Agard is the Clippers' rebounding leader by averaging 8.6 rebounds per game.

Last Year's Meeting Against Concordia
Led by a game-high 24 points from Irene Hudson, including the 1,000th point of her college career, the Lightning posted a 75-64 victory over the Clippers in last year's meeting at the Joseph West Jones College Center. Hudson, who also had eight rebounds in the victory, made 11 of 16 shots from the floor as the Lightning broke away from a 40-40 tie at the intermission to earn the victory. Meanwhile, Devonne Richardson had 13 points along with a career-high 20 rebounds for the Lightning, who had a 49-36 rebounding advantage. Krystina Agard led the Clippers in a losing effort with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Best Things in Life Are Free
Senior forward Irene Hudson became the seventh player in school history to make at least 250 career free throws when she converted all six of her attempts in the Lightning's loss against LIU Post on Sunday afternoon. With 255 career made free throws, she is tied for sixth in school history with Janae Weldon (2007-11). In addition, Hudson has attempted 458 free throws in her career, the third-highest total in Lightning women's basketball history. So far this season, Hudson is 21-for-28 (.750) from the free throw line, but has made 11 of her last 12 attempts over the last three games.

Richardson Becomes Newest Member of 1,000-Point Club
Senior guard Devonne Richardson became the seventh player in school history to score at least 1,000 career points in the Lightning's 67-66 victory over Kutztown on Nov. 12. With 17:48 remaining in the first half, she scored the Lightning's first points of the game with a lay-up that gave her the milestone. One of three active Lightning players with at least 1,000 points, Richardson enters Friday's game against the Clippers as the seventh-leading scorer in school history with 1,067 points.

Cleaning the Boards
Senior guard Devonne Richardson also has the opportunity to become the second player in school history to record 1,000 career rebounds this season. After tallying 71 rebounds in the Lightning's first eight games, the Baltimore, Md. native ranks third in school history with 916 career rebounds and needs 111 rebounds to become the school's all-time leader. As a junior, Richardson ranked fifth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference by averaging 9.7 rebounds per game. In addition, she had 10 or more rebounds in a game 13 times, including a season-high 20 rebounds against Concordia in a 75-64 victory on Feb. 18.
