Opening Tip-Off
After dropping their home opener against Bentley on Saturday afternoon, the Lightning will finish their quick two-game homestand on Tuesday night by opening their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schedule against the University of the Sciences at the Joseph West Jones College Center. Opening tip-off between the Lightning and the Devils is slated for 8 p.m. or approximately 25 minutes after the conclusion of the women's game between Goldey-Beacom and the University of the Sciences. Live stats and audio of Tuesday's game will be available via the Lightning's official athletics website, www.gbcathletics.com.

Updating the Lightning
Currently 0-3 on the season, the Lightning will be looking for their first win of the season when they host the University of the Sciences on Tuesday night. Goldey-Beacom opened its home schedule on Saturday afternoon with a rare home loss, falling to Bentley by a 66-43 margin at the Jones Center. Sophomore guard Marcus Porter led the Lightning with a game-high 14 points while junior forward Jordan Thorpe had six points with a season-high eight rebounds. Porter, a second team All-CACC selection last year, is the Lightning's leading scorer with a 16.0 average.

Scouting the University of the Sciences
After playing four games last week, the Devils will see their only action of this week by visiting the Lightning on Tuesday night. Now 1-4 on the season, the Devils earned their first win of the season with a 68-53 victory over 24th-ranked East Stroudsburg as Garret Kerr scored 28 points with 13 rebounds. Kerr, who has posted 23 “double double” efforts in his last 24 games, is the fifth-leading scorer in the CACC with a 16.4 average while making 44.6 per cent of his field goal attempts.

Making Them Count
Junior guard A.J. Picard enters Tuesday's contest as one of two players in the CACC who have yet to miss a free throw this season. Picard is nine-for-nine for the charity stripe in the Lightning's three regular season games and he also made all eight attempts in the exhibition game loss against Towson last Monday night. Over his last nine games dating back to last year (excluding Towson), the Skippack, Pa. native has made 33 of his last 35 free throw attempts (.943).

What's Ahead for Goldey-Beacom
The Lightning will begin a five-game road trip this weekend by competing in the Nova Southeastern University Tournament. After playing against the host Sharks on Friday evening, the Lightning will face either Charleston or Puerto Rico-Mayaquez on Saturday night. Following the Nova Southeastern Tournament, the Lightning will visit Mercy College next Wednesday before resuming their CACC schedule on Nov. 30 at Concordia. The Lightning's next home game is slated for Saturday, Dec. 8 against Caldwell.
