Goldey-Beacom Drops One in Overtime

he Goldey-Beacom College Women's Basketball team could not hold on to a 15 point 1st half lead on Saturday to secure a win at Felician College.   The lose drops their record to 9-5 and 4-3 in conference, leaving them in 4th place of the CACC South. 

With the game in its final seconds of regulation and the Lightning down 2, Devonne Richardson hit a 14 ft. jumper to send the game into overtime.  The Golden Falcons of Felician held GBC to just 2 points in the overtime period, both coming from the foul line. 

Felician College's Destiny Barnette scored a game high 32 points, 21 of them coming in the 2nd half and overtime.   Goldey-Beacom was lead by Irene Hudson with 20 points and 15 rebounds followed by Devonne Richardson with 16 and Akilah Sewell with 10. 

The Lightning head to University of the Sciences on Tuesday with hopes of closing out the series with a season sweep.  GBC beat USP by 2 on December 8 at the Jones Center but has yet to beat the Devils on their home court in the regular season.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm.
