PIKE CREEK, Del. - Gavin Penny and Marco Likos combined for five goals as visiting Nyack College defeated the Goldey-Beacom College men's soccer team, 6-0 on Sat. afternoon at Nancy Churchman-Sawin Field.
The Warriors, who are unbeaten in their last six outings including a 1-0 upset of the No. 3 team in the nation, C.W. Post, scored three goals in each half to earn the lopsided win. They outshot the Lightning 39-10 and had a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper
Ignacio Farias started in goal for Goldey-Beacom and made nine saves in the first half. He was relieved by sophomore
Carlos Meinhard, who made five saves in the second half. Nyack's Adrian Ibanez made three saves to preserve the shutout victory.
Felix Horn opened the scoring for the day just before the 12-minute mark with a goal off of a pretty passing play by Gavin Penny and Marin Narvaez. Penny added his own unassisted goal 14 minutes later when he collected his own rebound and fired a shot past a sprawled out Farias for the first of his three goals on the day.
Penny scored his second goal in the 29th minute when he settled a pass from Arturo Garcia and struck from inside the box for the Warriors' third goal of the first half. They would take that lead into the intermission.
Likos would score off of his own rebound in the 58th minute, and then tallied off a cross from Penny in the 63rd minute to make it 5-0 Nyack. Finally, Penny completed his hat trick with a goal in the 78th minute, scoring off of a cross from Garcia for the final goal of the game to make it 6-0, in favor of the visitors.

Andre Jank each led the Lightning with two shots apiece. Each had one shot on goal, as did senior
Kwame Appiah.
The Lightning go on the road Monday evening to take on non-conference opponent, Washington Adventist University at 5 p.m.
