PIKE CREEK, Del. - Junior Matt Bik struck for the Lightning just a little over two minutes into the game, but the Goldey-Beacom College men's soccer team surrendered four unanswered goals and fell to Bloomfield College, 4-1 on Mon. afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at Nancy Churchman-Sawin Field.

Bik's second goal of the season came on a low shot from just outside the box as the ball skipped past Bloomfield goalkeeper Daniel Hyde to the bottom left corner of the net, and the Lightning took an early 1-0 lead.

Terry Gibbs, the fourth-leading scorer in the CACC and two-time reigning conference player of the week, answered for Bloomfield a little over a minute later on a one-timer from Claude Allen.

The score remained tied for over 20 minutes before Bloomfield's Edgar Aguilar put in a rebound after Allen's shot hit the left post. Allen was credited with his second assist on the play.

Gibbs tallied once more for the Deacons seven minutes before halftime to give Bloomfield a 3-1 lead at the intermission. Jeffrey Dappah  beat two Lightning defenders and snuck a pass into the box for Aguilar, who beat an off-guard Lightning goalkeeepr Ignacio Farias to the lower right corner of the net.

Allen tallied his own goal off a cross from Juan Ramirez in the 53rd minute to make it 4-1, and that is how the score would stand at the end of regulation.

Bloomfield had a decisive 36-11 shot advantage and took two more corner kicks (7-5). Hyde and Farias each made four saves for their respective teams.
