JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Goldey-Beacom College men's cross country team placed second out of 10 in the 4K race and 9th out of 10 in the 8K race this past weekend at the Steven's Invitational at Liberty State Park.
The Lightning, paced by sophomore Paul Graybeal's fifth-place finish at 13:20.36, finished with an overall team time of 41:25.39, coming in second to just the host, Stevens Institute of Technology.
Senior Seneca Curry finished close behind at seventh with a time of 13:43.76, followed by Ali Jafri (12th) 14:21.27 and Demetris Harding (32nd) 16:27.94.
GBC was led by sophomore Ben Kinley in the 8K race as Kinley ran the third fastest 8K time in school history at 28:13.89. Up against stiff competition, he finished 18th overall.
Freshman David Zartler followed in 40th place with a time of 30:43.46, and junior Trevor Freburger (33:14.03, 52nd) and senior Jon Michalechen (33:45.23, 56th) rounded out the Lightning finishers.
