BOSTON – Four men and three women's Goldey-Beacom College cross country runners represented the Lightning at the NCAA East Regional this weekend in Boston.
For the women, freshman Liz Williams led the way, placing 152nd with a time of 29:21.0. It was her personal best time, and the 11th fastest time on the GBC all-time 6K list.
Williams was followed by the Murray sisters, junior Brittney (174th, 32:21.3) and freshman Alyssa (175th, 32:47.3).
On the men's side, sophomore Ben Kinley paced the Lightning with a 111th place finish at 36:55.3. His time was a personal-best and the eighth-fastest 10K in school-history.
Freshman David Zartler followed in 135th place with a time of 39:04.6. Junior Paul Graybeal was close behind in 139th place with a 39:28.4, and senior Seneca Curry was 160th with a time of 41:40.5
This concludes the Lightning's Fall 2009 cross country season. According to head coach Brian Conley, the Lightning look promising in 2010, only graduating one of the seven runners that ran in this race.
