Box score

Philadelphia, PA – Lightning is led by Acosta and Nolan, but fall in Philadelphia

Freshman Evebonee Acosta and Senior Kellyn Nolan shot well, but were unable to overcome Philadelphia University's 54% 3-point shooting (7-13), and fell 64-51.

The Lightning started the game strong, and took the early lead, as they controlled the boards and the clock, but the Rams responded.  The score remained close throughout the first half, as each team tried to gain momentum.  Philadelphia took the lead late in the half, and went to the locker room holding a 3-point advantage (26-23) over the Lightning.

The Rams extended their lead in the 2nd half to 14, as the Lightning attempted to stay with them.  However, the host continued their hot shooting, and maintained at least a 9-point cushion for the remainder of the game.

Evebonee Acosta led GBC with 20 points and added 2 steals, while Kellyn Nolan racked up 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.  Sophomore Arielle Alford was again big on the boards, as she collected 8 rebounds.

The Lightning will next host Georgian Court University on Saturday, January 24 at 1:00pm.
