Dominican, NY – Nolan, Weldon, and Steele score big but Lightning drop to Dominican

Even with the combined efforts of Kellyn Nolan (14 points and 4 rebounds), Janae Weldon (13 points) and Ashley Steele (10 points), the Lightning was unable to secure a win at Dominican College this past Sunday. 

The Chargers got off to a quick start, surging to a 13-0 lead in the first five minutes.  The Lightning struggled to keep up with Dominican in the first half, as they shot 33% from the field, and went to the locker room down 37-19.

Coming out after intermission, the Lightning showed a renewed spirit, and battled back to out score Dominican 36-34 in the second half. 

Despite a great team effort, the Lightning could not overcome Dominican's first half lead, and fell 71-55.

The Lightning will next host Holy Family University on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 6:00pm.
