Wilmington, DE – Lightning Tennis win streak stopped at five
The Lightning women's tennis team matched up today against the defending CACC team champions, Holy Family University. The Lightning who came into the match 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the CACC were looking to continue their winning streak.
The Lightning struggled at the start and dropped all three doubles matches. The Lightning then took on their singles matches, as Luisiana Souto and Luciana Pereira led the team with wins at 1st and 2nd singles. Souto defeated her opponent 6-2; 6-2 and L. Pereira defeated her opponent 7-6 (5); 6-3. The Lightning dropped their first match 7-2 against Holy Family University.
Luisiana Souto, Luciana Pereira, Daniela Pereira, and Anastoshia Lewis will be competing this weekend at the ITA championship tournament. The Lightning tennis team will next compete on Wednesday, September 24th at 4:00pm against Chestnut Hill College.
