2009 Season: Team’s No. 6 singles player and part of the No. 3 doubles team…third on the team in singles wins with a record of 12-5…teamed with twin sister Luciana for an 8-5 record in doubles play…CoSIDA District 2 All-Academic Second Team selection…Academic Excellence Award winner…Team Unsung Hero Award winner….earned the Kiwanis A. Raymond Jackson Award.
2008 Season: Team’s No. 3 singles player and part of the No. 2 doubles team…was 10-3 in singles play and 10-3 in doubles play with teammate Kate Lewis.
At UNC-Pembroke:
2008 Spring Season: Played at No. 4 and 5 singles and one match at No. 3 doubles…earned an overall dual meet record of 5-8 in singles play (2-0 at No. 3; 3-8 at No. 4) and 1-0 in doubles play.
Personal: Daniela E.S. Pereira…teammates call her “Dani”…identical twin sister of teammate Luciana Pereira…wears a purple wrist watch to distinguish herself from Luciana…came to GBC for the chance to study and play tennis, and because coach Joe Kissel was very nice in the recruiting process…enjoys tap dance, going on the computer and watching television…describes herself as “patient.”
