West Chester, PA – Cephas leads in scoring but Lightning drop a non-conference game at West Chester

The Lightning started strong in their non-conference game at West Chester University this past Saturday, taking the early lead 14-8.  However, the Golden Rams stormed back at the end of the half to take a two-point lead (27-25) into intermission.

Early in the second half, the Lightning struggled to find their rhythm at the free throw line shooting 13-21 (22-33 overall), as West Chester increased their lead.  Even with the help of Darnell Cephas' team-high 14 points, Darrell Johnson's 11 points and 6 rebounds, and Sam McDuffie's 10 points and 7 rebounds, the Lightning could not regain the lead, as they dropped the game 67-57. 

The Lightning will next host LeMoyne College on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 3:30pm.
