Philadelphia, PA – Tennis Victorious over University of the Sciences in Philadelphia

On Wednesday, the Lightning tennis team traveled to the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia for a CACC match-up.  The doubles matches went on first with Luisiana Souto and Luciana Pereira dominating 8-0.  Daniela Pereira and Anastoshia Lewis defeated their opponents 8-5 giving the Lightning the 2-1 lead going into the singles matches. 

Souto led the charge against USP in the singles matches with a 6-0, 6-2 dominating win over her opponent.  Following the lead was Luciana Pereira with a 6-0, 6-1 win and Daniela Pereira with a 6-2, 6-1 win giving the Lightning the 5-1 lead and the match win.  Anastoshia Lewis won 8-1 and Jennifer Jones took her match to three sets before defeating her opponent.

With the 7-2 win, the Lightning improve to 9-2 overall and 4-2 in the CACC.  The Lightning will next play Molloy College for their last home contest tomorrow at 4:00pm.
