Wilmington, DE – Lightning Explore Division I tennis with win over La Salle University

The Lightning women's tennis team hosted NCAA Division I La Salle University.  The Lightning's first round of play would be their doubles matches.  In swift fashion the Lightning took a 3-0 lead over the La Salle University Explorer.  The pairs of Luisiana Souto/Luciana Pereira and Daniela Pereira/Anastoshia Lewis won 8-3 over their respective opponents and Stephanie Bain/Jennifer Jones won 8-2 over their opponent.

The Lightning would next face the singles round.  Anastoshia Lewis was the first off the court from her singles victory of 6-3, 6-4.  Luisiana Souto and Luciana Pereira would be off the court next with wins over their opponents, securing the match win for the Lightning.  Jennifer Jones took her opponent to three sets, and recorded the victory with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 win. 

The Lightning defeated the Explorers 7-2 pushing their overall record to 8-2.  The Lightning will travel to the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 3:00pm.
