Caldwell, NJ – Tennis finishes regular season with sweep over Caldwell College

The Lightning tennis team traveled to Caldwell College today to finish out the regular season, and secure the #3 seed in the CACC team championship.   

The team was led by the #1 doubles pair of Luisiana Souto and Luciana Pereira, as they dominated their opponents 8-1.  In #2 doubles, Daniela Pereira and Anastoshia Lewis defeated their opponents 8-5, while the #3 doubles team of Stephanie Bain and Jennifer Jones won by forfeit.

Luisiana Souto led the charge in the singles matches with a 6-0, 6-0 win over her opponent.  The rest of the Lightning took Souto's lead and defeated their opponents in straight sets and gave the Lightning the 9-0 sweep over Caldwell College. 

The Lightning finished the regular season 11-2 overall and 5-2 in the CACC, thus securing the #3 seed in the CACC Tennis Team Championship.  The team will travel to Holy Family University on Tuesday, October 14, for a 3pm semi-final match.
