Sara Scheirman

Sara Scheirman, who exceled in different roles at two Division I schools, has been named Goldey-Beacom’s new volleyball coach.
 
Scheirman enters following a two-year run as a graduate assistant coach at Temple.  She played a huge role in helping run the program with duties that included breaking down video, creating itineraries, recruiting, scouting, game-day operations, organizing home tournaments and planning road trips.
 
Her hard work paid off as the Owls amassed a 42-20 record in that span, including a 15-5 mark last season in the American Athletic Conference.
 
Scheirman also was an athletic academic advisor intern for Temple.  She met with at least three student-athletes once a week to go over their academic reports, developed goals, familiarized herself with NCAA academic rules and served as an academic role model.
 
She also was a coach for the TSEVB camp in California, PA and the Renaissance Volleyball Club in Pittsburgh.  She also did a compliance internship at the University of Pittsburgh and attended the 2012 NCAA Career in Sports Forum.
 
Scheirman competed at Duquesne from 2009-12 and was selected second team All-Atlantic 10 Conference in 2010, Honorable Mention in 2011 and a member of the All-Rookie Team in 2009.  The Dukes went 64-34 over her last three seasons, including trips to the A-10 semifinals in 2010 and 2011.
 
She also was co-captain for Duquesne in 2012 and served two years on the school’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
 
Scheirman graduated Duquesne in 2013 with a B.S. in Business Administration and earned her Master’s in Sports Business from Temple in 2015.
