Mitch Kazanjian

Mitch Kazanjian is in his second year as the seventh women's soccer coach in program history.

Kazanjian's first season with the Lightning saw the unit earn a result five times over a seven-game stretch in October, which included three shutouts.  GBC at the end of the year play perennial-power Wilmington close in a 2-1 setback.

Kazanjian for two years served as head coach and scout for the Hudson Valley Crusaders Women’s Soccer Club.  He recruits and scouts players who have played professionally and in all three NCAA divisions, uses a mentorship program for uncommitted high-school athletes and coordinates community events with local clubs.

Notching an .835 winning percentage, Kazanjian’s teams have scored 3.75 goals per game and allowed just 0.875 per match over his first two years.  He also coached the United Women’s Soccer League 2 Offensive Player of the Year, the 2023 UWS L2 Defensive Player of the Year, the 2023 UWS L2 national Goalkeeper of the Year, the UWS 2024 Golden Boot runner-up and the UWS 2024 national assist runner-up.

Kazanjian in 2002 was picked UWS Coach of The Year.  He also saw seven players selected to All-UWS National Team the last three seasons and six picked first team All-UWS Northeast Conference.

He also serves as a mentor to those on his staff, seeing many through the club eventually land jobs in Division I and II.

Kazanjian also was the Director of Coaching for Zion Astro and was a Squad Leader in the Airborne Infantry for the United States Army.
