John Cappiello

John Cappiello took over as head coach of the Goldey-Beacom College women's soccer program in 2007. He brings over 15 years of coaching experience.

After a rebuilding season in 2007 that saw the Lightning go 1-12-1, Cappiello guided the Lightning to a 5-9 season in 2008 and had two players named to the All-CACC Second Team.

The next two seasons have seen the Lightning go a combined 4-26-1, but Cappiello insists the program will get back on the winning track in 2011 as he has brought in a batch of highly-touted recruits who will undoubtedly change the culture of the program this Fall.

Before GBC, Cappiello served as the head men’s soccer coach at Point Park University (NAIA) for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. He also held the positions of Delaware ODP head coach (2005-06) and head coach of the Kirkwood Phantoms/U-18 Girls/USYSA Delaware State Champion (2005-06) teams.

Cappiello has also served as head men’s coach at Delaware Tech Stanton Community College (2002-04), head men’s and women’s coach at Cecil Community College (1999-01), Delaware ODP U-17 girls head coach (2000-04), head coach of the Kirkwood Blue Monkeys/U-12 & U-13 Girls (2003), and head coach of the Miramonte High School boys team (1991-98).

He earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College and his MBA from the University of San Francisco.
